Sony recently revealed a new generation of PS5 audio accessories, designed to replace the older Pulse Elite model introduced in 2024. The first model, known as the Pulse Edge, features custom planar magnetic drivers with eight internal magnets designed to emulate the quality of a professional studio setup. It also includes a detachable microphone equipped with AI noise rejection, a USB Type-C adapter, and a high-quality carrying case.
Key features of the Pulse Edge include:

- A combined slider for balancing game audio with chat sound
- Active noise reduction capabilities
The second model is positioned as a more entry-level option. It uses a simplified design with four magnets in its driver assembly, likely resulting in less powerful bass response and clarity. This model forgoes a detachable microphone in favor of a built-in option and does not include the feature for balancing game audio with voice chat. Additionally, it lacks active noise reduction and is provided without a carrying case.
Sony has not yet provided details regarding the pricing of the two headsets, leaving their value in comparison to many high-quality products from other well-known third-party brands uncertain. Both products will be released in white and black and are expected to become available early next year. They are designed to connect directly to the PlayStation Portal via native PlayStation Link compatibility.
