Destiny 2's developer, Bungie, has temporarily suspended the accrual of prizes from private Crucible encounters due to a detected issue. While the company hasn't explicitly outlined the nature of the problem, there's widespread speculation among the game's community that it's related to a loophole allowing gamers to amass various items and resources in private sessions, regardless of their presence at the gaming station.

A tutorial video posted by Cheese Forever highlighted an exploit to effortlessly grant desired items without player activity. Predictions about the developer's response became a reality when Bungie verbally echoed the community's anticipations in a tweet, announcing the suspension of awards from private matches.
Frustrated players voiced their confusion over the harmlessness of exploiting such glitches, arguing that it enables them to more deeply engage with the game by enhancing their weapons without impacting Bungie's revenue from the Eververse store.

No subsequent communication has come forth regarding the reinstatement of private match awards, prompting queries about the rationale behind their initial availability.

Noting Cheese Forever's revelations, a player humorously suggested timing video releases to coincide with Bungie employees' off-hours. Bungie's "The Final Shape" announcement last August signaled a transformative approach to Destiny 2's content rollout, where instead of four seasonal updates, 2024 would witness three substantial, narrative-driven Episodes presented in three acts over six weeks. "Echoes," the narrative continuation of The Final Shape, has already made its debut this month.

Eurogamer's review praised The Final Shape as a commendable culmination of a decade-long narrative despite minor pacing disruptions and the strain of additional interface elements on an already complex navigation system. The review spotlighted the Dual Destiny event and the Pathfinder tool as notable expansions, emphasizing the game's evolution even as it approaches a narrative conclusion.
